STEP 1: GET YOURSELF A MORNING ROUTINE
It’s counterproductive if you take place behind your desk after you woke up 5 minutes ago. Instead, wake up and allow yourself some me-time or quality time with the family. Start the day with a delicious (& healthy) breakfast, take a long shower and/or get some exercise. Whatever suits you best!
STEP 2: DEFINE YOUR WORKSPACE
Make sure that you find yourself a separate workspace in your home, preferably one where you can close the door so that it’s clear for yourself and your housemates that you’re working. When the workday is over, clean your desk so you can start working right away the next day.
STEP 3: MAKE TO DO LISTS AND SET SOME PRIORITIES
Start your day by reading your mails and listing your priorities. Make a to do list, adding the most important things to the top of your list.Make sure you don’t exaggerate when making them, keep it realistic. This way you will get a satisfied feeling when you can cross each item!
STEP 4: ALLOW YOURSELF TO HAVE BREAKS
Don’t force yourself to work eight hours in a row, no one can hold their focus that long. Instead, try to work in blocks of one or two hours and then allow yourself to have a break. You’ll notice that this will make you more productive and that you’ll get more work done!
STEP 5: DON’T ALLOW WORK TO CONSUME YOUR LIFE
As we said in step 1, it is very important to draw a line between your ‘normal’ life and your ‘work’ life.Make sure you don’t work too long so you don’t overwork yourself! When you decide that your working day is finished, do not reopen your computer but enjoy your evening.
