BO Partner opts for Infrastructure-as-a-Service via vCloud

Challenge
- Affordable virtual infrastructure with managed services
Solution
- Epact vCloud
Why Epact?
- Platform flexibility and scalability
- Local expertise
IT service provider BO Partner decided to focus more on customer-oriented IT services and to call on an external partner to manage its own IT infrastructure. That's why they ended up at Epact.
BO Partner is a Belgian IT service provider that has been supporting small and medium-sized companies in their digital transformation for more than ten years. Their customers include companies such as Delvaux, Bulo, Eagle Stone and Nonet.
Challenge
Epact was commissioned to develop two proposals. On the one hand, a classic storage solution for five years and, on the other hand, a flexible solution per virtual machine (Epact vCloud). There were a number of very clear requirements beforehand: a solution with the shortest possible contract period, but with the possibility of extension. After all, BO Partner sees that customers are increasingly storing in the cloud and the need for physical infrastructure is decreasing.
Epact's support allows us to save a lot of time and resources to better focus on our customer-focused IT services.

Solution
Ultimately, BO Partner chose Epact's vCloud solution: a software-based data center that uses VMware's cloud technology and is housed in Epact's vCloud.
It is an advanced Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform that primarily consists of VMware technology. The virtual servers are hosted on redundant hardware in the InterXion data center in Zaventem, so that 24/7 availability is guaranteed.
The infrastructure consists of computing power, storage and network resources. This allows us to offer a highly flexible and scalable platform that, thanks to the software, can perfectly respond to BO Partner's computing, storage and firewall needs. Epact installed and managed tasks such as monitoring, hardware resource scaling, patching, and upgrades.
In addition to the IaaS services, BO Partner is also supported in the full backup story, with a Veeam solution. Backups are taken with a one-day RPO and are stored remotely using Wasabi Cloud Storage.
Here, Epact has a central backup server that is securely shared by several customers. As a result, customers do not have to provide infrastructure themselves, but they do maintain control.
Why Epact?
“We chose Epact because of the flexibility and scalability of their platform and the local expertise and support they offer in doing so,” says Lieven Embrechts, IT Solutions Architect at BO Partner.
